Like a Rocketship

I’m lifting off!!


The next few months will be a bumpy ride. Actually, I’m expecting the next few years to be filled with obstacles. There will be many mistakes, rejections, and failures. There might be times where I feel like all my hard work is not getting me anywhere, but even then, I have to keep doing everything I can to move forward.


In the words of Dr. George Wyse,

“Early in your career it’s like a rocket taking off and the thing you notice is there is a lot of fire and smoke. There’s a lot of effort going on but you haven’t moved very far. You’re doing a lot of stuff and you’re working very hard but it doesn’t look like you’re making a lot of progress.

And then you move into the mid part of your career and you still need some fire and smoke and everything but it’s a lot easier. You’ve moved a lot further and it just seems to be going a lot easier.

And if you persist long enough, you get to the third part (of your career) where you’re just kind of floating around and it seems as if things are happening with very little effort. But you have to go through the first stages to get to that.”
